Me: Marah, I want a hug.
Marah: I gave all my hugs to someone else.
Me: What?!
Marah: I’ll make more hugs.

Grinchy December 25, 2011

Marah: Daddy, can I have one of your cookies?
Dave: No, that’s my secret stash.
Marah: I’m going to start calling you, “Mr. Grinch”.
Bieber Fever November 16, 2011

During Marah’s most recent Parent-Teacher conference, I learned that the kids love to dance to Justin Bieber’s Baby song . You should know, as a mother, I’ve been doing my best to shield Marah from “The Bieber”. With that, I politely told Ms. Cheryl, “If Marah gets Bieber Fever, I’m going to blame you”. And so it begins…
9-9-1 October 8, 2011
Marah loves firefighters, (what girl doesn’t…right?)! We visit the fire station every single time we’re in downtown Castle Rock. The firefighters are kind enough to show Marah around the station, let her sit in the fire engine, and they always end the tour with safety tips. When she found out her teacher’s husband was a firefighter she was super excited! (Attached is a picture of Firefighter Chris’ latest safety education visit to the class.) With all of this “safety training”, she still think she should dial 9-9-1 in the event of an emergency. Let’s just pray we don’t have to rely on Marah to call for help!
Star Power August 28, 2011
There’s Brangelina, TomKat, Bennifer, Spederline… Marah made up her very own celebrity name for our superstar couple. When she’s not calling Allison, “Alexandra”, the preferred name is “Allisandrew”. Yep, Allison + Andrew = ”Allisandrew”.
Yogi Bear August 21, 2011
We celebrated cousin Mikey’s 5th birthday with a camping trip at the Yogi Bear Campground in Estes Park. Happy birthday to the sweetest 5-year-old I know!
Breckenridge August 20, 2011
I’ve said this before, but really, there’s no better place on earth to be than the Rocky Mountains in the summertime! Casey, Marah and I met up with Andrea and Eva for some girl time in Breckenridge. (more…)
Rocky Mountain High August 7, 2011
Our trio of 3 year olds enjoyed lots of activities on our 2nd annual girls’ trip to Crested Butte. From the kids’ concert to the crafts fair, Ms. Sarah outdid herself as hostess with the mostess. Lexi Lynn perfected the art of the cannon ball while Marah learned to swim with a noodle at the WestWall pool. Little Ella is one year older and preparing to be a big sis! All the while, Tami and I managed to escape with a bit of rest and relaxation. I’d say the trip was another big success! (more…)
Freedom and Fireworks July 5, 2011
We kicked off the holiday weekend with great BBQ and carnival rides at the 1st annual Castle Rock Freedom Festival. Friends and family filled the rest of the weekend with lots of laughs, games, fireworks and even a horseback ride. This was Marah’s 3rd Independence Day in Lake City and it may have been the very best. Happy Birthday America! (more…)
